“Men, come inside of me” is a comedy show starring Toni Nagy where she becomes the men that have come inside of her – both metaphorically and literally. Toni embodies these men, and then plays with their bodies to better understand why they had twisted her limbs and split her in half. At times Toni sheds the skin of men, only to peel back the layers of her own heart and expose her soul. To seduce the audience, Toni fingers her way through a variety of comedic methods including stand-up, interactive audience engagement, clown, storytelling, and dance as she paws at the cultural programming of gender dynamics. As Toni deconstructs her relationship to masculinity, she also constructs “the man” who lives inside of her. Toni’s desire to uncover these men is entangled with her yearning to develop compassion for them, as well as herself. Toni is him; she is Toni: she is you; she is me; and he is we. Hold me.
